*Proper aftercare is essential for a fresh tattoo and because I take pride in my work, I want the best healing for my clients possible! For this I use SECONDSKIN tattoo wrap and healing has never been so smooth and effective!
*After bandage is applied it will be left on for up to 7 days and during that time no ointment or products are needed to help with the healing process.
*You can shower with the wrap on but do not submerge or soak tattoo in any bodies of water or fluids.
*When removing the bandage, peel slowly and use warm water. Clean tattoo with fingertips and non-scented soap to get the gunk off. Rinse well and pat dry after.
*Apply non-scented lotion 2 to 3 times a day for the next couple weeks until flakiness goes away. Continue to clean tattoo at least once or twice a day, every day until skin is completely healed over!
*Sunblock can help protect your fresh body art, but only after it is completely healed over, can sunblock be applied, which typically for most is about 3 to 4 weeks after tattoo.
*If you think your tattoo is infected or having issues, contact your tattoo artist for next steps. But please keep in mind your tattoo artist is not a doctor, and can not diagnose infections but will do their best to help you. Although infections are not common, everyone heals differently and there is always risks involved with breaking the skin with any new body art. This is why proper aftercare is essential for new tattoos and if any questions arise, don’t hesitate to reach out to your artist!
